The kind you’ll burn the tires off your truck looking for—and thank your lucky stars you found!

Everyone, meet Debbie! Just as sweet as her namesake, Little Debbie, and built about as wide as she is tall! This exceptionally well-built Paint Quarter Pony mare is the kind of pony that’s getting harder and harder to find. At 14 hands tall, Debbie is the perfect in-between size—big enough for adults to enjoy and small enough for kids to grow up riding. Add in her kind heart, lifetime of experience, and willingness to take care of her rider, and you have the kind of unicorn that doesn’t come around twice!

Debbie’s resume is ten pages long, and we could spend all day telling you about her. She is honest as the day is long, forgiving beyond measure, and willing to tackle just about any job you put in front of her. When we have a first-time rider come to the barn, Debbie is the one we pull out. She adjusts to her rider, takes things in stride, and has the kind of old-soul disposition that makes you appreciate a good horse even more.

Out on the ranch, Debbie is the real deal. She has spent countless hours doctoring cattle, and she has had more cattle roped and tied down on her than most folks have ever laid eyes on. She knows her job, keeps the slack out, and helps you get your work done. She is sure-footed, sensible, and travels confidently over the country without making you second-guess every step. Whether you’re checking cattle, doctoring one outside, or spending a long day in the saddle, Debbie is the kind you can count on to go to work.

Now, if you’re looking for a finished heel pony, you’d better pay attention! Debbie gives you the same shot time after time, stays quiet in the box, and doesn’t need a bunch of preparation to go do her job. Unload her, saddle up, and go rope! She has been hauled all over to junior high and high school rodeos, and she handles the road and the atmosphere like a seasoned veteran. She hauls great, doesn’t get rattled in the box, and leaves flat. She is the definition of a weekend-warrior winner—the kind you can enjoy all week and take to the arena on the weekend.

If you have a young roper learning to heel, Debbie deserves a serious look. Our own five-year-old, Townes, has been roping the sled on her, and she absolutely takes care of him. Whether you’re bringing along a young rider or want a dependable partner to go win on yourself, Debbie has the experience and the disposition to make the whole process enjoyable.

And the best part? Debbie is so much more than an arena pony! Point her toward the trails, and she is just as enjoyable out there. She travels level-headed with a nice, comfortable way of going and will move as fast or as slow as you ask. Bridges, brush, water, and rocky terrain are all part of the adventure, and Debbie takes them in stride. She is the kind you can enjoy exploring the country on without needing to make every ride a production.

On the ground, Debbie is just as easy to love. She is easy to catch, brush, saddle, and bathe, and she hauls great alongside mares or geldings. She is one-handed broke, kind, gentle, and genuinely enjoys attention. She’ll happily stand around for scratches and brushing, and her sweet personality makes her a favorite to have around the barn.

Whether your plans include ranch work, roping, junior rodeos, trail riding, or simply finding a safe and dependable partner for the family, Debbie checks an awful lot of boxes. She has the size, the experience, the ability, and—most importantly—the mind that makes a truly special horse. She adjusts to the rider she has underneath her, making her a wonderful option for a family wanting one good pony that can suit more than one generation.

If you’ve been waiting for that hard-to-find, do-it-all pony that the whole family can enjoy, Debbie may just be the unicorn you’ve been looking for. Ponies like this don’t come along every day, and good ones don’t stay around long!
