The Confident Rider

I teach riding lessons at two farms in Fluvanna County, close to Charlottesville, Zion Crossroads, and Lake Monticello, Virginia. I don't offer boarding at this time, but boarding facilities are available nearby for riders who have their own horse and want to work with me. Some of the lesson horses are available for partial lease. My riders have opportunities to compete in hunters or in eventing, and can also trailer out to some great parks for trail riding. Showing is not required, and beginner riders are welcome.

The Confident Rider gives riders of all ages and personalities a chance to thrive. The majority of lessons are private, which gives students the opportunity to learn at their own pace and receive lots of attention and feedback. When I do offer group lessons, there are never more than four riders in a class. Many of my students have had previous bad experiences and almost gave up riding. I help them to build self esteem, set goals, and rise to the challenge. Many of my riders make faster progress than they ever have before when they begin working with me. There is no pressure to perform, and sometimes the relaxed atmosphere really helps people to flourish!
