Maria is a 9 year old, blue roan mare. When I say this mare is safe and gentle, I mean she is SAFE and GENTLE. She stands a stocky 15.1 hands. While her personality is extremely laid back, she has the the ability and desire to ride all day. She came off a working ranch in Oklahoma and raised several young ranch kids until they were ready to move onto faster horses. She neck reins very well. Has a nice, big “whoa”. Will sit down and spin both ways. She rides softly and quietly. Her walk and jog are nice and smooth. She jogs nice circles, and smoothly turns both ways. She will lope, and picks up both leads, but she lopes better outside across the field than in the arena. Marie rides like an absolute dream with a halter and lead rope or you can ride her bridleless. On the trails, Maria is absolutely saintly. She will ride out alone or anywhere in the group. She has no issues crossing water, bridges, logs, or other terrain. She provides comfort and confidence to young or nervous horses riding outside. She also instills confidence into her riders. You can pony colts on her with no issues. She is absolutely traffic safe with all kinds of traffic. She does well in parades or simply riding up the road. She isn’t phased with popping a bull whip off of her or shooting a gun. Whatever silly shenanigans you come up with, she will tolerate them! Maria gets along well in the pasture with mares and geldings. She stands perfectly to tack up and mount. She stands well for the farrier and loads/unloads with ease. There are not enough good things I can say about her! Everyone wants to be the lucky rider of Maria!
