Toby is TWH/SSH/NSSH sorrel and white gelding with a smooth, ground-covering walk, an equally smooth four-beat running walk and nice canter. He is a willing, sure-footed trail partner, having been ridden on the mountain trails of Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina and the sand flats of Florida. Stands to mount. Responsive in the saddle to your leg, seat and hands. Good to ride out alone or in groups and gets along well with other horses, usually low man in the herd. Observant, but not spooky. Crosses water. Toby would be a great mount for you if you like to ride all day long on the trail. He is always willing to move out and with his stride and long legs, he walks 3 to 3.5 mph and can gait 4 to 5 mph.
On the ground, he's quiet and respectful of your space. Moves, backs and side passes at liberty. Ties, loads, high lines, clips, bathes, stands for farrier. Been barefoot with no issues for last five years. (Farrier says he has the best feet in the barn.) Sound all around. No health issues. Vaccinated, floated, dewormed on schedule.
