Meet your dream horse! Rain is the ultimate package deal not only does she ride excellent but she drives just as good! She’s very easy to handle and work with. And it doesn’t hurt that she’s a dapple gray too! She’s a Percheron cross and she’s the perfect size. She stands at 14.3 hands tall but she’s very stout and can carry or pull her fair share of the load. So if you like a small drafty type of horse that you don’t need a ladder to get up on then Rain is your girl.

She’s just 6 years old and will go anywhere you point her. She is more whoa than go, but she can move right out when you ask. Being a driving horse she knows the voice commands walk on, easy, trot, and whoa. For driving she is excellent… she stands still for hitching, getting on and off the cart, and only goes when asked. She’s good with the traffic. She’s been a carriage horse since she was 2 years old and she is used to going downtown in the busy parts of town. As you can see from the video we had a motorcycle, bus, a box truck, and some loud traffic go by and it doesn’t bother her. She will drive in a team as well. And she handles really nice on the reins she can do those sharp turns and flex to get that cart turned around. She’s light on the reins too so very easy to handle. Most of the time I just give her the voice commands she doesn’t even need the reins.

Now for riding... she goes right in the water as you can see in the video all the different creeks and rivers. She crosses bridges big or small. Goes right through the mud. She will cross big or small logs and push through brush. She rides away from home alone, will separate on the trail, and doesn’t care that much if another horse leaves her behind.

She’s not easily spooked she has a very calm collected demeanor more laid back. She gets along out in the pasture. She’s easy to catch. Loads good and stands stock still in the trailer. In fact when filling up at the gas station I completely forget she’s even in there sometimes I think I’m hauling an empty trailer. I really don’t have anything bad thing to say about her she has NO bad habits or vices. She has a lot of experience under her belt at 6 years old and she’s just the perfect size because if you are taller that’s no problem she’s wider and can easily carry you. Or if you happen to be shorter like me then she’s a lot easier to mount.

Stands still for mounting, tacking, or just at the hitching rail. Good for fly spray. As long as you know how to ride you’ll get along with her she’s a fun ride. Has a smooth trot and such a NICE canter! The really nice thing that I love about Rain is that she’s content to just plug along if that’s what you want to do or if you want to move out and get home in time for dinner she’ll pick right up and get you there. And she’s so versatile because if you want to take the family for a drive down the back roads you can just hook her up a go there’s no worries or stress with this horse. I just can’t say enough about how nice she is, but the video pretty much speaks for itself.
