We have an opening for a RANCH HAND. This job is working as an independent contractor 15-30 hours/week. Ideally you will live right on our beautiful horse ranch in a spacious fully-furnished guestroom for $500/month all utilities included. If you choose to live here the room will be included as part of your pay of $1,200/month (or $15/hour) so that you are making $1,700/month (with the room rental included).
Winter time (November 1st - April 1st) duties include letting the herd of 14 horses out each morning to pasture; throwing 5 bales of hay; filling water tubs; mucking out 10 horse stalls; laying pine shavings in each stall; stuffing hay nets; filling water buckets in each stall; bringing horses into their stalls for the evening. Barn maintenance duties take about 3 hours daily. During the winter months you will only be working 3 hours/daily doing these barn chores but will make the same income that you make weekly during the busy season.
Spring-Summer-Fall (April 1st - November 1st): In addition to barn maintenance your duties will include taking city slickers out on horseback trail rides (tremendous fun!) - and teaching riding lessons. During our season your duties will take 6 hours/day = 30 hours/week.
Because you are only working 15-30 hours week you can work another part-time job to supplement your income. This is the perfect job for cowboys, cowgirls and horse lovers in general.
We are seeking a hard-working (don't complain about mucking stalls), responsible (don't neglect the horses with laziness), honest (don't steal) individual. We will give greater priority to those who are willing to live here on our beautiful horse ranch. Dogs and cats allowed on a case by case basis.
Pay starts at $300/week or $15/hour. Based on consistent performance pay raises will be provided.
