Ima Cuttin Red Buck, affectionately known as “Tommy”, is a 2011 model AQHA gelding standing 15.2h. He is by an own son of the legendary Two Eyed Red Buck. Two Eyed Red Buck horses are known for their even temperament, good bone and foot, and are some of the classiest movers among today’s modern ranch horses. Tommy would make a great partner for anyone needing a quiet, kick ride, all around type gelding. He is forgiving enough for a green rider but talented enough to keep a more experienced rider interested and learning. We have a lot customers who tell us they are older with some experience but are not looking to “hit the ground anymore” and want a horse that is quiet, safe, and been there, done that. If that describes you, this is your horse! Tommy is well educated in the arena. He likes to stretch down and travel long and low and on the vertical. He moves off your seat and leg well. He will pivot and knows basic lateral movements. Tommy can be sluggish at times but with a little spur, a crop, or some extra encouragement he does whatever is asked. He has a nice, easy neck rein as well. He is a pretty, balanced mover who would look gorgeous in the ranch pleasure classes or in the hunter ring. I have slowly started Tommy over cross rails and small verticals. I have introduced him to some grid work too but he is not yet coursing around a set of jumps. Tommy is great to trail ride as well. He has a very confident demeanor, which helps make him great to ride out alone and he does not get buddy or group sour at all and will easily ride away from the group if you wish. He does not mind to lead or follow when out in a group. He has no issues crossing any obstacles and loves the water. Tommy is an absolute gentleman to have in the barn and is known as the teddy bear around our barn. He loves to lay his head on your shoulder for some lovins and has even been known to try to pull you in for a ‘hug’!He cross ties quietly and stands to be groomed/tacked/bathed and is great for the farrier. He currently turns out in a group of geldings during the day and stalls at night. He gets along with his pasture mates well and falls in the middle of the herd. Tommy is always easy to catch and is more often than not, waiting for you at the gate. He has no history of health or lameness issues and has a current PPE on file with full flexions. He has a negative coggins on file and is UTD on his fall vaccinations.
