Due to some unfortunate medical circumstances I have to list my boy for sale. ?

Gatsby is a big boy with a big heart. He is perfect, safe, and very athletic! He has a past in foxhunting and is said to be broke to drive, however I do not have a buggy nor can I drive a horse haha.

On the flat, Gatsby boasts three big lofty gaits. He has never once bucked, spooked, or reared. Despite his large size, he doesn't need much leg as he is almost completely voice trained! This has been super helpful as I am only 5'4. Gatsby has incredible breaks and stops with a big long "woah". Because of his large steps, he can be a bit of a challenge to get used to but he will allow you to hang on his mouth or mane until you're more used to him. I have thrown beginners to more advanced riders on him and he doesn't bat an eye. If you're looking for a husband horse, he's your guy!

Gatsby also has an INCREDIBLE jump! He needs a more confident, consistent rider to jump as he gets unsure and will try to step away. However, he will never do anything nasty (dumping, sudden refusal, etc). I have seen him jump 2'6 with drive to go higher. He's not a turn-and-burn jumper, but he will try his heart out for you.

He is such a gentleman on the trails. English or Western, Gatsby is a solid mount that will take you over logs, through water, and over unsteady footing. He can hit the trails alone or with a group and have no problems.

On the ground, Gatsby is such a love bug. He is easy to catch in the paddock and won't pick a fight with others. I can lead him with my pinky finger. He stands tied and picks up all four feet with ease. He is perfect for both the vet and the farrier and doesn't fight you when deworming. He takes the bit like it's a treat! Speaking of treats, he loves to smile when given something tasty after doing a good job.

Gatsby may need some maintenance in the future which I'm happy to discuss with a serious buyer. However, this does not affect him or his current workload. Gatsby is low maintenance. He has an UTD coggins and had the farrier out recently. He wears front shoes.
