Check out Buckwheat, If you’re looking for a smooth ride in style this 11 year old buckskin gelding stands 15.1 hands tall and is as good looking as the day is long. Trail horse deluxe through and through. Buckwheat as we affectionately call him is uncomplicated, quiet and well broke as any good gaited trail horse should be. He’s an easy going all around guy from the ground to the saddle and has some pep to him but always very controllable and has a nice stop. He’s gaits naturally and is smooth as a Cadillac. He rides out alone or in a group down the trail or around the arena. He will camp on a picket line and truck out for miles and miles each morning. He will cross over deadfall, through mud and water as well as navigate rough terrain and steep up/down grades. He is good in traffic and around other farm animals and equipment as well as obstacles like tarps, bridges etc. Buckwheat gets along in turn out and is patient and behaved in a stall too. He stands for grooming and saddling and is well mannered for the vet and farrier to do routine work on. He will load into any style trailer and hauls nicely- he will unload the same horse no matter where you take him and he requires no prep in new places, just saddle up and ride off. Buckwheat is sound and has no vices or limitations. We welcome vet checks at the prospective buyers expense. Should you need guidance in arranging transportation we have a list of haulers we have used and recommend and would be happy to share it with you.
