WOW, is this gelding unique! We’ve never found one like him before, and we probably never will again! More fondly known around the barn as the “baby giraffe,” this guy stands a staggering 18.2 to 18.3 hands (roughly… he’s bigger than the measuring stick)! Thor is a beautifully built, 5 year old DWB/Clyde cross. His sire is the well accomplished stallion 𝓤𝓷𝓸 𝓓𝓸𝓷 𝓓𝓲𝓮𝓰𝓸. Uno’s foals are known for having three quality gaits and good temperaments, both of which have certainly proved true for Thor! He has the BEST temperament and personality! He truly acts like a big puppy dog! His mind is phenomenal, he has great character, and he’s sure to get noticed with his four white socks and big blaze. 🤩 He’s absolutely breathtaking!
Under saddle, Thor is going beautifully both in the arena and out! He rides both Western and English, and he looks good in both! 😍 In the ring, Thor has a ground covering walk, trot, and canter both ways. He’s well balanced and has tons of flash to his movement. He has been learning to go with connection, balance himself, and move off leg pressure. He will extend out or collect, or you can ride him on the buckle! He’s easy to get along with, safe, and sensible. He can take a joke, and if you get unbalanced or make a mistake, he doesn’t mind! He’s the perfect balance of woah and go. He’ll mosey around on the buckle all day or happily pick up the pace and work. He’s suitable for amateurs, fun for a professional, and will even pack around beginners. He has had an easy, slow start to life and has been started correctly with the basics. He has comfortable gaits, the most fun uphill canter to ride, and a willing attitude every time he’s pulled out. We have no doubt this gelding would be a standout dressage mount, though he’s also proved to be athletic and capable of going in any direction!
Over jumps, Thor is incredibly honest, and he naturally has great form! He was started over jumps this past summer, and he’s blown us away with how much he’s learned! He is brave to the jump, easy to see a distance on, and has schooled up to 3’3” with plenty of ability to go higher. He has been out cross country as well as schooling simple combinations and courses in the ring. He retains knowledge incredibly well, making every ride enjoyable, and he’ll make you proud to see the progress. He is versatile and full of potential! We could see him killing it in the show ring, or he could make a steady fox hunter! The options are endless with Thor.
On the trail, Thor has lots of miles at many different locations! He acts the same away from home as he does at home, and he’s used to hopping in the trailer for an adventure. He’s brave enough to lead or will happily follow in a group. He’s gone over bridges, past hikers and bikers, and has even had deer jump out right in front of him without him blinking an eye! His “spook” is a rarity, and if it ever does happen, he takes a look and then he’s the kind of horse you can push on and he’ll forget about it in seconds! Thor is as sane as they come, and he’s been desensitized to A LOT. He has a little kid kind of curiosity about him and tends to check things out rather than have a negative reaction. For example, the ball, tarp, and flag all got taste tested 😂, and if he could’ve tasted the smoke bombs, he would’ve! He’s also very familiar with loud dogs, equipment, and all types of traffic. It’s rare to find a young horse with such an unflappable attitude, and Thor genuinely takes it to the next level!
On the ground, Thor truly acts like a pet, always wanting attention and affection! He’ll stand all day to be groomed, tacked up, and fussed over, and he loves a good bath. Sometimes, he needs to be reminded of personal space. Half the time, I don’t think he realizes he’s an abnormal giant! 😅 Thor is never malicious or mean. If anything, he’s too friendly and would live in your pocket if he could! He keeps us laughing with his playful shenanigans, and he likes to put everything in his mouth like a big baby. 😆 He gets noticed EVERYWHERE he goes, and his beauty is absolutely jaw dropping! He’s a great personality to have around, and he genuinely keeps everyone smiling.
We got Thor directly from his breeder. He’s had one home before us and hasn’t been passed around. We have all his health, breeding, and past history, not to mention his adorable baby pictures! Thor has always been well cared for and incredibly loved, so we only want the BEST home for this gentle giant! ❤️"""
