Kids have ridden them around the pasture, Tex was a former rodeo (barrels) horse and neck reins, a little more responsive but nothing bad for us. Mae is very calm and sweet, lets anyone climb around on her and anyone can point her around in the pasture.
We have not taken these ladies back out on the trails or had a formal work evaluation done on them, I would not expect them to be able to ride all day with their age and history. Would probably do fine with short rides and definitely great at pasture rides, hauling grandkids, and all that.
Tex's papers are lost, Mae has her papers. Former owner listed them at 8 and 12, Dentist estimated Tex to be about 18 years old, Mae is 22.
Not in any sort of rush to move these ladies, but they are sweethearts and would thrive on more attention than they get here (we have many animals come in that need care and try to rehome the healthier ones as able once they improve).
