"Sunny" Sorrel Gelding Quarter Horse

Meet Sunny, a 12-year-old sorrel American Quarter Horse gelding with a puppy-dog personality and tons of potential. He’s absolutely beautiful, super sweet, and always the first to greet you at the gate. He’s easy to catch, stands great for the farrier and baths, and loads well in the trailer.

Sunny is basically bombproof on the ground — nothing phases him. He’s calm and steady around dogs, farm equipment, tractors, ATVs, and general farm chaos. He’s confident, curious, and very people-oriented.

He also has a very independent personality — not herd-bound, and just as happy riding alone as he is with a buddy. He’s top of the pecking order in the pasture but respectful and easy to manage.

Sunny was shown in 4-H earlier in life and had a good start, but after his previous owner suffered a heart attack, he sat for several years. Because of that, he doesn’t remember much of his past training and is basically starting fresh under saddle.

He rides well in a fenced-in pasture, but in open fields, he can get a little excited and may try to take off. He’s not spooky or dangerous — just needs miles and a confident rider who can give him structure and consistency as he relearns.

Sunny would make a great project horse for an experienced rider or someone working with a trainer. He has a kind heart, a good brain, and all the groundwork to become a wonderful partner again.

I’m not in a rush to sell — I just want him to go to a good home where he’ll be well taken care of and get lots of love. He deserves someone who will give him the time, attention, and partnership he’s ready for.
