"Stormy " Grey Mare Quarter Horse

Stormy is a lovely 18–20-year-old Quarter Horse cross mare with a sweet personality and a heart of gold. She absolutely loves trail riding and is happy to go out alone or with others—though she does prefer the company of another horse. She crosses creeks, bridges, and is traffic-safe. Stormy will walk, trot, and canter on trails, and while she can canter in the arena, she still needs some work and confidence in that setting. She also ground drives very well!

I purchased Stormy last fall as a project and ended up deciding to keep her, but due to personal circumstances, I’ve made the difficult decision to offer her for sale.

Stormy hasn’t had the easiest past and is looking for that special person she can truly bond with. She does have some trust issues, but once she learns to trust you, she gives it wholeheartedly. She’s incredibly sweet, willing, and really wants to please—she just needs someone with patience and kindness to continue helping her along. This past winter I have done a lot of ground work and it has helped her a lot but this past few months we have started doing more under saddle work!

She can be anxious at times and a bit spooky in new situations, but she has made incredible progress and continues to improve. She is not a beginner’s horse and would do best with an intermediate to experienced rider who can give her the consistency and confidence she needs.

Stormy stands tied quietly, loves water, and enjoys a good bath. She absolutely loves being groomed and pampered. She is not especially fond of men, though she has gotten better with time and gentle handling.

She had her teeth done in November and has great, solid feet. She is currently barefoot and does well that way.She also has a up to date negative coggins!! She is also an extremely easy keeper!!

She does need a little bit more work and I would be willing to work with her for a little longer!!
