✨Smoke Show✨ is one we’re excited and proud to represent! 🔥 This 5-year-old, 15.3hh Perch/QH gelding certainly lives up to his name! He’s one of the nicest put-together horses we’ve ever had, not only with his build and features, but also with his incredible brain! More fondly known around the barn as “Smokey” or “Smoke,” he’s the kind of horse that seems to catch everyone’s eye. He hasn’t gone a single day without getting a compliment, and pictures honestly don’t quite do him justice. He’s really that stunning! Smoke has a quiet, almost old-soul way about him. He’s not one that needs to be in your pocket every second or constantly looking for attention, but he’s sweet, respectful, and content to stand with you and be fussed over. There’s something pretty lovable about how seriously he takes his job for a horse that’s only five!
Smokey is trained to ride both Western and English, he’s broke to drive, and he even lays down on command! This guy has great movement, a light feel, and a solid education underneath him. He’s balanced, steady, adjustable, responsive to leg cues, and overall incredibly fun and comfortable for a variety of riders! He has the best canter transitions, and he will leg yield, side-pass, spin, and he has a nice stop. He’s one you look forward to riding because you know you’ll get the same reliable horse every time. Smoke just goes about his job without making a big deal out of anything, and we really appreciate that about him. He’s the perfect in-between of go and whoa, with great self-carriage, natural ability, and balance. He’s lightly started over poles and small jumps, both in the arena and out, and he’s shown scope, bravery, and nice form. He’s a truly versatile horse in every way!
Smokey LOVES to go out on the trail, and he keeps his manners just as much out there! He’s very careful with his feet, aware of his rider, and just a happy camper to be out in nature every time. He’s carried many different levels of riders safely, and he’s brave in all circumstances. He’ll cross highways and bridges, go for a dip in the water, and doesn’t bat an eye at wildlife, hikers, or dogs. He’s been desensitized to traffic, tarps, flags, smoke, and equipment, and not much can get under his skin! One of the things we like most about Smoke is that he notices the world around him without feeling the need to make a big deal about it. He’s an aware horse with an amazing sensibility about him, making him one you can give the reins to and just sit back and enjoy the ride. Prepare to get compliments everywhere you go with Smokey, because he’s THAT guy!
In the barn, Smokey is quiet, lovable, and mannered. He’s perfectly happy being fussed over, but he’s just as happy to stand there patiently and wait on you. He stands like a statue to groom, tack up, bathe, and for the vet, farrier, and dentist. For such a young horse, he has a really mature way of carrying himself and is just an easy horse to have around. He can go out in a mixed herd, and he’s never naughty or starting drama. He gets along well with other horses, loves his buddies, loads and trailers quietly, and acts the same off property as he does at home.
Smokey is an incredible young horse with already so much talent, and we know he’ll succeed in any direction! He has the looks that make you stop and stare, but underneath all of that is a sensible, educated horse that simply shows up and does his job. Whether you need a reliable guy to hit the show ring with, pack guests, spend the day out on the trails, or take out for a carriage drive, Smoke is a jack of all trades! At only five years old, somebody is going to have a lot of years to enjoy this special guy, and we can’t wait to see where he ends up. We want the best home for our special boy. ❤️
