"Sharpie" Black Gelding Haflinger

Sharpie is an eight-year-old Haflinger / Gypsy Vanner cross gelding. He stands 14.1 hands tall.

Sharpie is a very calm, gentle, laid-back horse of everybody’s dreams. He has all the look, shape, and confirmation you would ever want in a horse. He is as solid as an oak tree. He is a very easy keeper, literally; he will stay fat on air.

I have roped the dummy a lot off of him; he will stay right in the middle to give you an honest target and loves to stop when taking a jerk from a calf does not faze him at all. He is not scared of cattle. I have checked and doctored several in the pasture off of him.

I have shot off of Sharpie for several months now. He is as honest of a shooting horse as you would want. He stays true on the rundown and does not duck or shy from the gun smoke, flash, or noise from the gun. He will run right up in the middle to give you that perfect shot, or you can shoot over his head with no problem. I use a 45 caliber.

Sharpie is such an amazing little horse. He is suitable for all levels of riders from beginners to pros. We have taken him on many trails with riders of different skill levels. He is such a good boy in the woods. He will cross bridges, water, and logs with absolute ease and no issues. He is not scared of wildlife. If he were to come up on some during a trail ride, he has seen them all: squirrels, rabbits, deer, turkeys, and birds of all kinds. You can lead the group or ride in the back of the group, or you can go out alone; he’s just glad to be there.

Sharpie is very traffic-safe, whether you are riding down the highway or in a parade; he does not get rattled with any vehicles or unexpected noises or sights

If you’re looking for a cool, cool driving horse, he is definitely your man. All levels of drivers have driven him with different equipment. He will work single or double; if you can hold the reins, you can drive him.

I have hauled him to several arenas during different events just to ride around in the parking lot and warm-up arenas and he has done. Great, he hauls well, ties well, and gets along well with other horses when turned out or on the trailer.

He is super easy to bathe, saddle, harness, and bridle; he is easy to pick up his feet. He is barefoot at the moment. He does not require shoes of any kind. He is easy to give deworming medicine to. He is easy to give a shot to, too. He’s the perfect horse.

This is definitely a rare opportunity to own a horse of this caliber. He checks all the boxes and is very willing to please. I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed this Horse since we’ve had him. He is the kind I have to make myself get off of him I enjoy him that much he’s got a short lope that is sooo smooth!
