Sassy is a beautiful 5-year-old Shire × Paint cross mare standing just over 15.1 hands, and she truly is the kind everyone hopes to find. She’s the horse Dad can gather cattle on, Mom can take to drill practice, and the kids can confidently learn to ride. With her sweet disposition, willing attitude, and versatile nature, Sassy has become our go-to girl for just about everything.

She has done a little bit of it all—cowboy chores, trail riding, lessons, carrying flags, pulling sleds, camping trips, and a handful of playday events. Sassy thrives on having a job and takes every new experience in stride. She’s the definition of a dependable, all-around family horse that enjoys being a jack-of-all-trades.

Under saddle, Sassy walks, trots, and lopes with smooth, correct transitions and a soft, easy-going feel. She rides well off both a neck rein and direct rein, making her suitable for riders with different levels of experience. She is forgiving, patient, and uncomplicated, yet still offers enough buttons and responsiveness to be enjoyable for a more experienced rider.

On the trail, she is confident and sure-footed. Water crossings, logs, bridges, brush, traffic, and new environments are all taken in stride. She’s happy to ride out alone or in a group and remains level-headed no matter where the day takes her. Whether she’s ridden every day or given time off, Sassy comes back the same honest, willing mare.

Around the barn, she is easy to catch, enjoys attention, and genuinely likes being around people. She has a kind heart and a patient nature that make her a joy to own and handle.
