"Are you looking for a horse who's always the same? Always Dependable? Always consistent? Get ready to start checking boxes!
We call him Rollie around the barn, he is an 8-Year-Old, 15.3 HH, Quarter Horse x Percheron Gelding. He has been in our program for over a year and is now looking for a family of his own!
If you’re searching for that hard-to-find horse who is safe, honest, versatile, and genuinely enjoys his job, look no further than Rollie. He's the type to teach you to ride!
This adorable guy sports a stunning dun coloring, complete with a unique milk-dipped nose that makes him impossible to forget. Built with excellent conformation, substantial bone, and solid feet, (yes he can stay barefoot) Rollie is as sturdy as he is beautiful.
Rollie has earned the nicknames “Mr. Dependable"" and ""Rolex"" He can stand for a month and ride off as if he was ridden daily while looking good doing it! He is the kindest soul in the barn and is always happy to see his people. He can be caught anywhere, anytime, and stands quietly tied for grooming, tacking, bathing, mounting, and everyday handling.
On the trail, Rollie is the definition of confidence. He has countless miles under his belt and has seen it all—woods, open fields, wildlife, lakes, streams, bridges, traffic, and more. He’s the horse you can load in the trailer and haul to your next adventure. He enjoys a relaxed ride and taking in the scenery but willingly moves out when asked.
Rollie has also been extensively desensitized to tarps, pool noodles, and a variety of obstacles. Very little rattles this guy, and he approaches new situations with a calm, level-headed attitude.
In the arena, Rollie is equally impressive. He walk, trots, canters, and jumps with ease. His adorable jump is honest and uncomplicated, with no peek or hesitation. He is a true push-style ride that responds nicely to seat and leg cues, making him an excellent choice for beginners, timid riders, and those looking to learn.
Whether you’re searching for a dependable family horse, lesson horse, hunt field partner, trail companion, or all-around best friend, Rollie checks every box. He is safe enough for the tiniest riders yet sturdy enough to comfortably carry most adults. Leave him in the pasture for a month and hop right on, or ride him every day—his attitude remains exactly the same.
As an added bonus, Rollie is also well broke to drive and has extensive real-world experience, including schooling shows, hunter paces, and parades.
Rollie is the horse everyone wishes they had in their barn: trustworthy, versatile, forgiving, and always eager to please. Horses like him are incredibly difficult to find.
We absolutely adore this horse, and we’re confident his next owner will too.
