Rocky is the true all-around confidence builder that is genuinely happy to participate in whatever shenanigans you want to ask him to do. He's had years of experience in everything from lessons to camps to shows to trails to working cows to jumping. He's straightforward and responsive to ride - has a light one handed neck rein, knows leg cues, has a good stop, a very smooth jog, and an easy lope, making him great for both a kids/guest horse, yet handy enough to be fun for an experienced rider to play on.
He takes literally no prep - he's the one I have jumped on bareback in a halter in my pajamas in the middle of the night to go round up the other horses that got out,. He’s up for anything - I have pulled him out of the field to try out skijoring one day, and he couldn’t care less. He hops into any trailer any time, has no dangerous quirks/vices, is gentle to handle even for kids, and gets along well in the pasture (though does best in geldings only herds). His most annoying feature is pawing when you’re bringing him his food, and he doesn’t have a mean or combative bone in his body. He is registered King Iron Fox, though his papers are not in hand due to a personal disagreement between previous owners.
He's a horse who, out of years of running a program and working with horses, is one that I would never sell, but here I am in a divorce and out of options, so he is very sadly offered to a good home.
