This guy is big. He is 17'2. Around 17/18 years old. He has a decent mouth. Clean legs and in good shape! Not super thin like most older drafts! Sound. He has been a plow/work horse basically his entire life.
This guy rode when I bought him. The reason we didn't ride him? Our bridle doesn't go big enough lol. Now he did ride in a halter / lead in the ring when I bought him, but we aren't going to do that. So here is he.
He is a little pushy like a lot of drafts. Not unruly or dangerous, just a big horse that knows his size. Again, not dangerous. If he was he wouldn't be here lol. Simple as that.
He was easy to catch, and saddle. Stood well to brush. He hopped right on the trailer. Good out in the field.
He is priced accordingly since we didn't ride him. If I had a bridle that would fit and we would take the time to ride him, he would be hundreds of dollars higher. I was just going to take him to a sale this coming week, but going to list him for a while and see what happens. Drafts like him are listed on most "kill pens" or people that "rescue" Amish horses for hundreds or thousands more. Here is a chance to get a affordable draft.
I have had hundreds of drafts. While he isn't my favorite or a total deadhead like some of the ones I have had.. he really isn't bad. People like honesty and my opinion.. and that is it. I think if you spend a little time working with him, he would come along ways.
