Magic is a sweet, laid-back gelding with a reliable, consistent personality—you get the same horse every time you ride. He’s confident, level-headed, and easygoing, but will step out and move when asked. Super smooth rocking horse gait. Could be good for a beginner with guidance because he is still young and may take advantage and be super lazy.

He has a solid foundation in the arena—walk, trot, canter, stopping, backing, and moving off leg pressure. He has been started on barrels, been to local gymkhanas and handles the atmosphere calmly. He’s still polishing his leads.

Magic has been exposed to a variety of situations, dogs, kids, bikes, motorcycles, tractors, streets. He likes chasing cows but not been roped off of. Rides calmly through creeks, forests, deserts and neighborhoods. He sometimes spooks at things dragging on the ground (remote control car). He will stop and stare, and maybe move sideways, but nothing dangerous. He gets along with other horses but isn’t overly attached, making him easy to ride out alone.

On the ground, he’s a pleasure to handle—ties, loads, bathes, and stands for grooming. Will stand tied all day. He can be a little fussy when being cinched (pins his ears or shifts around) and can be a bit grouchy at feeding time, but no biting or aggressive behavior.

Sound and no history of any health issues. He does have a wound on his left hind rump that he came to us with. It is healing slowly, but his price reflects. It does not affect his riding at all. Vet-checked on 4/22, confirmed it is just cosmetic. Given a clean bill of health. Ridden barefoot or with boots. Front shoes recommended for rocky regular trail riding. Stands well for the farrier. Easy to catch in the pasture.
