If you’re searching for that once-in-a-lifetime partner, look no further — Kygo is the total package.
This stunning Percheron/Quarter Horse cross may only be four, but he’s wise beyond his years. A true old soul, Kygo is quiet, kind, and incredibly level-headed. He’s a total push ride with a calm, thoughtful demeanor — the best-brained four-year-old we’ve had all year.
Kygo is confidently going walk, trot, and canter in the ring. He has lovely walk-to-canter transitions, he’s learning to frame up, and he stops with just a “whoa” or off your seat. He’s been started over some jumps in the ring, as well as out cross-country schooling. He couldn’t have done a better job with the new and scary jumps, and he has the cutest knees and form! He’s honest and straightforward, with an even, adjustable canter. Put him in a bad spot and he’ll save you every time. You can ride him Western or English, and he is more of a push ride. He definitely is not one that will run away with you. With his build, brain, and athleticism, we cannot wait to see what this guy can accomplish in the future!
Kygo is just as impressive out on the trail, with a naturally steady and brave mindset. He has literally had tractor trailers fly by him without blinking an eye. He’s brave and fun to take out. Whether he’s leading or following, riding down a busy road to town, bushwhacking through thick woods, or cantering out in an open field — he’s trustworthy for all of it. Kygo LOVES water. He will put his whole head under! Take him across the creek or swimming in the lake — he will not hesitate to dive in. He’s also been started under harness, taking each new step with curiosity and try.
On the ground, Kygo is a total sweetheart — affectionate, respectful, and a joy to be around — with absolutely no vices. You can have the kids braid his tail, let the baby pet him and grab his mane — he stands for it all and does it happily. He loves treats and going outside with his buddies. He’s easy to turn out and has good ground manners. He will stand to tack up and even puts his head down to take the bit. He gets along with everyone, and he is quiet and well-behaved in the stall. We can’t say enough good things about his personality — he is truly a big lovebug.
Kygo is a clean slate with a solid foundation, ready to go in any direction you choose. Whether you’re looking for a laid-back trail buddy, a future dressage partner, or a family-friendly all-rounder, Kygo has the heart and brain to become something truly special. We have all come to love him, and he is an absolute gem to have in the barn. We will truly miss this one when he goes — but are so excited for him to have his own person. He is one we are very proud of and happy to present to the public.
