AQHA registered 8 year old Grulla Gelding 16.1 hands

Registered name JP Perry Mark barn name Levi

Meet this handsome gelding with the kind of presence that turns heads wherever he goes. Standing balanced and correct with a strong, athletic build, he combines good looks with a willing disposition. He is a good natured friendly horse who tries hard has kind eyes and has had lots of training and learns quickly. Good ground manners and will stick with you or lead behind you and is respectful while grooming. He lets me touch anywhere with hand, stick, string, flag, and brushes. He is a lot of fun to play with on the ground and ride. He has a very comfortable slow sitting trot, posting trot, and is capable of going fast or doing an entire ride at a walk. He is responsive to leg and rein cues hindquarter and forequarter yields, sideways, and back up. He is very responsive both on the ground and in the saddle. He responds to voice cues of cluck to trot and kiss to canter.

He’s been hauled from ND and to WI in the last year and previously to Arkansas and Texas. Does well with the vet/farrier, has ability to ground tie, loads/unloads from the trailer, allows multiple people to catch him, bathes, bridles great, saddles well, gets along with other horses (higher on pecking order currently alpha), isn’t buddy sour, trail rides with other horses, and does lots of natural horsemanship ground work. No alley or gate issues. He has no known health issues and no known past injuries. Has good hooves and is shod on all 4 (best for him during fly season) did great barefoot late fall-late spring. No cribbing, or weaving. Up to date on coggins, vaccines, worming, and teeth. He has been stalled successfully, but he seems happier with larger paddock/pasture space with other horses.

I got JP Perry Mark on an auction a little over a year ago after he had been in training with a natural horsemanship trainer for 4 months and I ended up not having as much time and capacity as I anticipated due to becoming pregnant shortly afterwards. I had a baby 5 months ago and don’t have the bandwidth for the consistency he needs. He would do best with someone who will do ground work and ride him every day 1-2 hours a day. He would be best suited for someone with intermediate or advanced experience. He will get tight on the lunge line and act more right brained when he has time off and is more horse than I would recommend for a beginner. He also has bucked for me and previous owner and needs someone with enough experience and sticky in the saddle. I’ve had successful rides with him. It is a hard decision, but realized he isn’t the right fit for me in my current circumstances. I want to find the right fit and a good home for him so I will be particular. Open to reasonable offers especially for a good home and fit.

Skills listed from when I bought him:

All Around, Horsemanship, Natural Horsemanship Training, Trail Riding, Western Riding, Working Cattle, stands tied, clippers, Carries a flag, swing a rope off him, crosses bridges, tarps, great with gullies and hills, will track cattle and good with buffalo, cross logs and water, rode up to waterfalls, rides out alone or with other horses, ride in the arena or on the trail.
