"Favor " Palomino Mare Quarter Horse

Rehoming due to no fault of her own! Life just gets in the way, and we want Favor to have a person of her own to love and enjoy her.

Favor has been with us for over a year. That being said, she definitely holds a special place in our hearts.

Favor is primarily ridden Western, but she will also ride English or bareback. She neck reins or direct reins with ease. We have done extensive trail riding with her. Favor crosses muddy creeks, rivers, and bridges with confidence, and absolutely nothing phases her—she is not spooky.

Even though we’ve spent a lot of time exploring the mountains, we’ve also spent plenty of time in the arena. Favor has a smooth walk, jog, trot, lope, and canter. She stops flat and has a strong backup. She is also very well started on her side pass and spin (slow and correct). Favor is a champion at opening and closing gates—that’s always her favorite job!

Favor has been ridden by all ages, from as young as 3 years old to as old as 77 years old. She hauls exceptionally well and adapts to new environments without stressing. We’ve hauled Favor all over Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina trail riding. She also tags along with us to our team ropings and rodeos to take in all the different excitement.

Favor is traffic safe and stands quietly at the trailer without a fuss. She is a farrier’s dream horse and has excellent hooves. We do keep all of our horses shod due to the rocky terrain we ride, and Favor currently wears all four shoes.

She is great for the veterinarian, stands quietly to be clipped and bathed, gets along well with other horses in the pasture, and is easy to catch.

Favor also has a few tricks on her résumé—she will bow and lay down on command, which can be very helpful in an emergency situation or for mounting. You can mount Favor from a mounting block or from the ground on either side.

Favor rides out alone or with a crowd. She is a super sweet mare, not mare-ish, and is always honest. She is not a horse that has to be ridden every day, as our work schedules don’t allow us to ride daily.

Favor does have a small scar on the front of her left leg. It is purely cosmetic and has never affected her soundness or performance. She has had this scar since she was 2 years old, and it has never caused her any issues or Lameness.
