"Cowboy" Pinto Gelding Spotted Saddle

Cowboy is the smoothest gaited horse in all ways—walk, gait, canter—Cowboy is a Spotted Saddle horse with a great personality, is sweet in the pasture and tacking, and is pure joy to ride.

At 14.2, he is short and sturdy and easily mounted!

At ease riding with buddies or alone on the trail, in the pasture, working in the round pen, accomplishing tasks like figure-eights, he excels with a perky, quick tempo.

He rides Western saddle and English reining.

He has covered all kinds of terrain, does not spook easily and investigates obstacles before advancing.

For day trips and camping, he handles trailering effortlessly.

Cowboy gets on very well with pasture and barn mates.

Ridden of late with a quick, agile Rocky Mountain horse, Cowboy nudges in behind but will also take the lead. And, he keeps up!

Ridden by an actual cowboy for most of his life, go a little light on the reins.

By design, he has had very few treats but loves carrots at the end of a day’s ride.

Cowboy is best suited for a confident rider only because he has a little more go at the beginning but settles right in quickly.

He can be a bit headstrong at the start, wanting to get out on the trail already. It’s go time!

A few circles in a round pen or five minutes in the pasture before heading out settles him for the journey ahead.

Heading back to the barn is easy.

Cowboy is for sale as his current owner has had back fusion surgery, is 67, and is looking for a slower horse to ride well into her seventies.

His bridle, reins and breast harness go with him.

He is newly shod (June 2026), passed a wellness check with dental exam (April 2026), and is Coggins negative (April 2026).
