The kind of horse that gives his rider confidence. Well trained, dependable, and eager to please. Calloway is a 4 yr old, AQHA, Grullo Roan gelding, standing 16 hands tall.
Calloway possesses the kind of temperament that simply cannot be taught, he was born with it. Gentle, patient, and kind hearted, he carries himself with the confidence and maturity of a seasoned partner well beyond his years. Whether he's been ridden every day or enjoyed time off in the pasture, he is the same horse every time you pull him out. Honest, dependable, and eager to please.
Under saddle, Calloway is exceptionally well trained and incredibly user friendly. He can be ridden completely tack and bridleless and responds softly to leg, seat, and verbal cues. He carries a comfortable trot, a smooth rocking chair canter, and willingly picks up the correct lead in both directions. He has a solid foundation, moves laterally, pivots, and two tracks. Calloway is also trained to lay down from either the ground or his back with a simple tap on the shoulder.
Callowayβs versatility shines through in both Western and English disciplines. He travels out on a loose rein, yet willing accepts contact in the bridle. He has been started over cross rails and is currently schooling Intro and Training Level dressage. He offers a simple lead change and shows the balance, trainability, and willingness to continue progressing in any direction his next owner chooses.
One of Calloway's greatest strengths is his patience with children. He is a true gentleman for young riders and happily walks, trots, and canters around the arena while taking excellent care of his passengers. More importantly, he is one of the few horses I trust to leave the arena with children aboard. His steady mind and dependable nature allow kids to simply enjoy the ride while he quietly takes care of them.
Recently, Calloway joined me on a girls' camping weekend and reminded me once again why he is such a special horse. He stood quietly overnight on a tie line, carried saddle bags with ease, and was the same reliable partner from the first mile to the last. On the trail, he confidently crosses water, navigates hills and uneven terrain, and handles new environments with maturity. Whether leading the group or content to follow, he remains calm, confident, and enjoyable every step of the way.
Calloway is a horse you can trust. Patient with children, confident on the trail, and solid in the arena, he is the type of horse that fits into a variety of homes and programs. Easy to ride, easy to own, and a pleasure to be around, he is a horse I am genuinely proud to offer. Calloway sells current on all cares. He does have a superficial scar in the hair near his left fetlock that has been evaluated by a licensed veterinarian and determined to be cosmetic only, with no impact on the joint.
