"BSR Smokin Sunshine " Palomino Mare Quarter Horse

BSR Smokin Sunshine “Shine” is an awesome all-around eight-year-old mare. We raised her from our late stud and she the last of his offspring we will have available so don’t miss out! He produced many very athletic and talented offspring that are ranching and competing in roping and barrels.

Shine is a meet you at the gate type mare and loves people. She is quiet and easy to handle on the ground and rides like a dream. She stands 15 hands tall and is a beautiful palomino with that eye catching wavy mane. Look at her papers - her pedigree speaks for itself – Doc’s Hickory, Peppy San Badger, PC Bronsin, Dash For Cash – this mare was bred to compete!

Shine is athletic and smooth as they come. She has a nice little trot you could ride all day and a smooth lope. She could compete in rodeo events, team penning, or roping and can also lope nice slow horsemanship patterns in the arena. She knows the barrel, pole, keyhole and jumping figure 8 patterns. She has been hauled to a couple of fun shows and done slow work for the experience, but has not been asked for the speed she has yet. She is ready for her “person” to take her in the direction they want to go.

She has all the buttons and needs a rider who has soft hands. She is soft mouthed and does not want someone yanking on her face. Yes, she is quiet and gentle, but I will not sell her to a beginner because she needs someone who knows how to ride and use the cues she has. I love this mare and want her to be happy at her new home.

She is great on the trail and will go over/through anything. Has been overnight camping and on long trail rides. Shine’s only vice is she will kick at another horse if they ride up behind her. So, it’s best to tie a ribbon to her tail to warn those people who let their horses ride up your butt.

She stands for saddling/mounting, good for all cares, stands tied alone for hours if you want her to, bathes, loads and hauls well. No maintenance, but if you ride on a lot of gravel or rocks, she would prefer shoes. She is ouchy on rocks, but we usually keep her barefoot.

She has had two foals for us and is an excellent mother. In 2024, she had a gorgeous dunskin filly for us and this year she had a nice dun filly.

Shine had dentistry and chiropractic in June and is UTD on all other cares. We have owned Shine since she was born so we can answer any questions you have about her. Videos available.
