Boyd has logged lots of trail miles and is confident wherever you point him. He crosses water, steps over logs, handles rough terrain, and is traffic safe and sound. He is comfortable riding in a group or heading out completely alone. In a group, Boyd is happy to lead the way or fall in behind and follow without a problem.
In the arena, Boyd is just as impressive. He always picks up the correct lead, carries himself with a beautiful headset, and has a very slow, collected trot. His lope is smooth and comfortable with that wonderful rocking-chair feel that makes him easy to sit and enjoyable to ride. If you ask him for more, he will pick up the pace and move out nicely, giving him the versatility to be enjoyed Western or English.
Boyd has been exposed to everyday farm life and takes it all in stride. He has been around heavy equipment, farm machinery, cattle, and other livestock. He has the experience and confidence you want in a horse that will be used outside of the arena. Whether you’re riding down the road, through the woods, across open country, or around the farm, Boyd handles himself like a seasoned horse.
He is also wonderful to handle on the ground. Boyd is easy to catch, stands nicely for a bath, and trailers perfectly. He has been on overnight camping trips and will stand tied to a picket line. He has the patience and manners to make those long trail-riding and camping weekends enjoyable from beginning to end.
Boyd gets along great with other horses and is an easy stall keeper. He is the kind of gelding that fits easily into the barn and doesn’t require a complicated routine. He has had plenty of both arena work and real-world trail experience, giving him a well-rounded education and making him a horse you can enjoy in many different settings.
Boyd does not require any maintenance. He is current on his Coggins, has a fresh set of shoes, and has just passed his vet exam. He is ready to go and enjoy with his next owner without needing to be brought along or prepared before hitting the trails.
At only six years old, Boyd has a lot to offer and plenty of great years ahead of him. From his smooth rocking-chair lope and collected trot to his trail experience, correct leads, beautiful headset, and dependable attitude, he is the kind of gelding that is hard to find. Boyd is ready to hit the trails, head to the arena, or become someone’s next favorite riding partner.
