"Blue" Blue Roan Gelding Quarter Horse

SOLD

Blue is the kind of gelding that is hard to find — big, striking, sensible, and useful.

This 2018 blue roan gelding stands approximately 15.3 hands and is a stout, well-made horse with an Oklahoma ranch background. He has the size, color, and presence to get noticed, but what really makes Blue stand out is how practical and enjoyable he is to ride.

Blue is quiet, straightforward, and forgiving. He has been ridden by riders of different experience levels and has the kind of sensible disposition that makes him easy to get along with. He is calm and dependable, but not dull — he will readily move out when asked.

Under saddle, Blue neck reins, walks, trots, and lopes, takes both leads, has a strong stop, and backs willingly. He has a good handle and is responsive without being overly sensitive.

Blue is comfortable both in and out of the arena. He trail rides confidently, crosses bridges, water, and ditches, and is comfortable around roads and traffic. He will ride out alone and is also comfortable traveling with other horses. He can ride in the front, middle, or back of a group without getting anxious or sour.

He stands quietly to be mounted and is easy to handle on the ground. Blue loads and unloads well, hauls quietly, stands tied and cross-tied, picks up all four feet, clips, bathes, and is good for the farrier. He is also easy to catch.

Blue has solid feet and can be maintained barefoot or shod depending on workload and terrain.

He has no known vices and no known soundness issues.

Blue would make an excellent choice for someone looking for a safe, attractive, ranch-experienced gelding that can trail ride one day, work around the ranch the next, and still have enough athletic ability and responsiveness to be enjoyable for a more experienced rider.

He is the kind of gelding you can take somewhere, get on, and enjoy.
