Big Star is an absolutely striking palomino gelding with a rich, deep golden coat that immediately catches your eye. His lighter mane and long, full tail give him plenty of contrast, while his bold white face and white socks add just the right amount of chrome. He has a particularly pretty head with a soft eye and refined features that complement his overall look. They have even been able to do some of the reining maneuvers on him, which speaks volumes about his good mind, patience, and willingness to adjust to whoever is in the saddle.
Big Star's potential certainly isn't limited to the reining pen. With his natural cadence and beautiful way of moving, he would make an excellent ranch riding horse. He can extend beautifully at both the trot and lope, then transition smoothly back down when asked. We have started introducing him to more of the ranch riding work as well, including trotting over poles, backing through them, and side passing over them. He takes to new things willingly and has the movement, handle, and foundation to excel in another direction.
Outside of the arena, Big Star is every bit as enjoyable. He is easy to take down the trails and is comfortable riding through the pasture or down a wooded path. He will go through water of all depths, travel along creek beds, cross bridges, step over logs, navigate the obstacle course, and is traffic safe.
