We are so excited to finally introduce Abnor, a barn favorite here at PVE! This handsome gelding has one of the biggest personalities in the barn and will definitely keep you entertained. He is the kind that makes you smile every time you walk into the barn.
Abnor was born and raised right next door to us and has been in training here at PVE for over a year, so we know this horse extremely well. He is by an own son of Delta Flyer, one of the most well-known Paint cutting horses in the country. You couldn't ask for a better combination of bloodlines, brains, ability, and disposition.
Abnor is a 5-year-old, 14.2-hand tobiano Paint gelding with the training and versatility to go in just about any direction. He would make an outstanding prospect for Ranch Versatility, Ranch Riding, 4-H Reining, Western Riding, Ranch Reining, Trail, Queen Contests, and so much more.
In the arena, Abnor is soft, responsive, and easy to operate. He willingly gives laterally and vertically to the bit and yields nicely to leg pressure, yet he's quiet and forgiving enough for an advanced beginner. He'll ride just as nicely in a soft snaffle as he will in nothing more than a halter. Over the past year, Abnor has been successfully shown in Ranch Pleasure and Trail classes. We've also used him to pony young horses and help with our colt-starting program, which speaks volumes about his dependable nature.
But don't think Abnor is just an arena horse — he is a trail horse DELUXE! He'll pack saddlebags and confidently go wherever you point him. Tarps, whips, balloons, and traffic don't bother him. He'll cross large bodies of water, navigate steep and slippery banks, step over logs, and travel through mud without hesitation. He'll also work a gate, sidepass over logs, and hold a steer at the end of a rope.
One of our favorite things about Abnor is his personality. He's always one of the first to meet you in the field and genuinely enjoys being around people. He can sit for weeks or even months without being ridden, and when you saddle him back up, he's the same dependable horse every time.
Abnor is UTD on vaccinations and Coggins. He stands great for the farrier, bathing, and clipping, and loads and unloads from the trailer with ease.
