If safe, steady, tried and true is what you’re looking for in your next horse, check out our boy, Apollo. Apollo is a 10 year old quarter horse gelding standing 15h. Apollo would be the perfect partner for an amateur or young rider that is looking to learn and gain confidence whether that be down the trail or in the arena. He is very well broke without having ‘too many buttons’ and does not feed off his rider’s energy if they get worked up or nervous. He has a true and easy one hand neck rein, works off your seat and leg effortlessly, has a soft mouth, and rides true to your leg. Apollo has clean and easy transitions which require no ‘help’ from his rider in order to pick up the correct lead, or to keep a nice even headset. When asked, he will lift his back and come down over the vertical and ride around collected beautifully. Conversely, if you’re just interested in pitching away your reins and relaxing, he will keep an even comfortable pace with a nice headset all on his own. Apollo also has experience in local ranch show classes. He has experience in some ranch riding classes, ranch sorting, ranch roping, and reining cowhorse. A timid adult, beginner, or youth could successfully show him in a range of different classes. He is a very versatile horse that would work well for someone interested in the ranch horse shows. In the barn, Apollo has great ground manners and proves to be just as quiet and gentle as he is under saddle. He stands well to be groomed, tacked, and bathed and stands well for the farrier. Apollo is sound with no history or health or lameness issues and does not currently require any maintenance.
