Monte is the gelding in your barn that is your go-to for anything the day may hold. From a relaxing trail ride to a full day on the ranch, to a team roping or ranch rodeo. He is youth and adult suitable and there’s no doubt you’ll argue over who gets to be the one to use him that day! Monte has been in some of the best hands there are and is a very trained and very classy gelding. He is gentle without fail every time you saddle him, and he stays that way. Monte is currently being used on a cow/calf operation and is a ranch gelding that will make a cowboy proud to ride and use him. He knows his job well and is well experienced in all aspects of ranch work but make no mistake you do not have to be a cowboy to ride him. Your little cowboy or cowgirl can ride him and tag along on the ranch with you or he is just as happy to mosey down the trail as he is to go to work. Monte is a favorite to sort on and has a lot of cow to him. Whether it be in the pens sorting calves off cows or in the sorting pen competing, he is there to do his job and do it well. He has had many head roped on him out in the pasture and doctored or loaded on the trailer. He is spectacular in every area when it comes to being used on the ranch. Monte is a finished horse in the roping pen as well. He ropes both ends and has been hauled all over the state of Texas. He has plenty of run and rate. In addition to the roping pen Monte is also a regular customer at the ranch rodeos, both youth and adult. In the 2022 season Monte was the main mount for a peewee cowboy in the TYRRA ranch rodeos and he is no stranger to the open ranch rodeos either. Loudspeakers, banners, commotion, equipment…none of it phases him. He is the been there and bought the t-shirt type. Monte is an extremely reliable gelding in any circumstance and one that will serve any family well no matter what your preferred discipline may be. While Monte’s primary experience so far has been on the ranch and in the roping pen he would be an excellent candidate for the ranch riding classes. As stated prior he has been in great hands and is extremely well trained. He has all the necessary buttons to go far in the show pen. He has no maintenance requirements, health issues or special needs. He travels well and is a soldier on the road and in the trailer. Monte is an easy keeper and is well mannered in every way. He sells to be absolutely sound, gentle and pleasing in every way.
