To challenge her mentally I took her to school at a Working Equitation show with only 14 rides on her. She hauled like a champ, settled in and made our first ever attempts at the obstacles with no warm up in a torrential downpour. She took it all in stride. At the time of writing this Rosie has 30 rides on her walk/trot and we have started working on canter. Rosie has been working on shoulder in, rollbacks, turn on the forehand, turn on the hindquarter, leg yield and starting hindquarter in. She is currently being trained under saddle part time by an amateur and part time driving by someone brand new to driving (with a mentor/coaching). Rosie would be a great prospect for someone who likes to make their own horses, she is super consistent, has never done anything unsafe or crazy and is getting some really fun buttons with endless potential. She had about 6 weeks off riding through February and rode off like the last time was yesterday. She enjoys obstacles and challenges. I would love to keep this horse but unfortunately I have too many youngsters and I can only keep one, I am keeping the one out of my favorite (now deceased) mare.
Rosie was bred for versatility and she will be a true all arounder. Cutest little hackamore pony? Combined driving star? Fancy hunter? Distance Diva? I can see Rosie thriving in any of these pursuits and many more. I even think she would love working cows. Rosie’s sire AO Breeze+++// is the only living Arabian that has achieved National Championships in stallion halter and jumping (credit to Arlene Magid for this information). He also completed a 50 mile endurance ride. His offspring have been champions in a variety of disciplines. Rosie’s dam NW Juanita is from older polish lines with a racing influence, although NW Juanita was never trained due to injury she has always been a joy to handle. Rosie’s pedigree has a lot of good older bloodlines such as Khemosabi (through Kaiyoum and Khemo Sabre), Ansata Ibn Halima, Aladdinn and Bask. She is distantly related or unrelated to many of the current popular sires today making her a good potential out cross for breeding in the future. She would cross nicely on German Riding ponies and Welsh ponies.
So if you are the kind of person looking for a partner to adventure with, who could pack around your kids/grandkids when she finishes training, ask me more about Rosie! The right home is priority and I will negotiate to make that happen.
