Create my profile now!Due to sudden declining health problems for my mother I am not able to work with Ava, so am considering a lease (75/mo) to the right person. If i am selling, that person would be given first option. Ava has one upright hoof but is sound and canters and trots on it without favoring it too much. She was sold by the Amish because they suspected that heavy daily driving was not going to be good for her hoof. Light riding is supposed to be fine. Ava was said to be started in harness and they hopped on bareback in a halter, ridden a little, but has no 'formal' training under saddle yet that i am aware. She is very impressionable ready to learn, currently needs a bit of basic respect ground work training (she is in your pocket and space a bit) and a consistent leader since she is way too large for her to be pushy. Happy attitude, very willing! She learns fast, desensitizes well and does not blow up. She would benefit from a clear leader. Good heart and mind, just needs consistent handling, which now I am unable to do.She is great with her front hooves- and I have been trying to get her to let folks handle her hind feet easily, the Amish apparently did not work much on that. She does not know where to put her hinds when she picks them up. That is her greatest need, she is not used to holding them up, but I am very confident that will improve quickly with consistency. There is so much she can do in the future, even as a brood mare, and light riding horse, but i planned to use her as a light trail horse and she is sound for that. However now that my mother's needs have intensified I know I will not have time to devote to her..I have some videos so just contact me, - Phone number removed - for those.
