Dark Bay OTTB Gelding for sale in Texas

I’ve had Charleston since April 2023, he has been lightly restarted and honestly could go in any direction (except no major jumping).

More whoa than go, if that’s what you’re looking for. Ridden in a Hackamore or a bit. Loves a good scratch behind his ears. Turns out well with geldings, calm and chill in the field. Very in your pocket kinda of boy so sweet and always try’s his best. Very inquisitive. When I purchased him they cleared him for up to 2”6 jumping but I think he would be best for cross rails, flat work and trails or even possibly a therapy horse as he is very calm under saddle. I’ve also done some light ground driving with him and you would never know he’s never done it before. Loads and trailers well.

Will require light maintenance (once a year injection) for an old healed fracture in his knee. (dependent on the amount of work. Currently he is doing light work (walk trot canter, pole work. When I got him injected vet said it wasn’t really needed and fluid that they drain was really good.) I have X-rays and all medical records for any serious inquiries.

Back in October 23’ he had an incident where he backed up into the farriers truck. He was put on full recovery as he was walking “off” and given an adjustment and as you can see in the video is moving fine and sound. However when under saddle he is weak in his hocks/stifle area.

I do think because of this though he will do best doing flat work only. Shows no signs of pain or lameness and cleared by vet for lameness.

He will be continuing his training until he is rehomed. This will not affect his rehoming.

I not be selling him to just anyone he is a super sweet boy and I will need to know he’s going to a forever home who will give him a great life.
