Drifter is a super nice, well trained AQHA, coming 5 year year old, 15.1 hand Red Roan gelding that has foundation bloodlines. This is a very gentle and kind horse that has good training. He rides and acts like an older horse. He is handy yet quiet and has an easy one hand neck rein, good turnarounds, a nice, comfortable jog, and lopes out on cue. Drifter takes his leads, has a good stop, backs up well and side passes with ease to open and close the gates. Drifter has been rode by children as well as novice adults and he takes good care of his mount. He is solid to ride out anywhere from rugged mountain trails to busy urban streets and is traffic safe. On the trail drifter is confident and goes over around or through anything we point him at without hesitation. Crosses our very technical rocky river, small, creeks, trail, bridges, tarps, etc. He will lead, follow, ride quietly in a group or out on his own, is very sure footed and dependable in steep rocky terrain. Drifter is equally as good to ride around our neighborhood. He is settled and unconcerned with all that we encounter from fast passing vehicles of all kinds to farm animals, bicycles and the neighborhood dogs. He has been used on the ranch for all of the ranch horse chores and has been lightly started in both heading and heeling in the arena. He carries the flags, tarps, cans and such. This is a great horse with a bright future. He’s always gentle and is an absolute pleasure to ride and be around. Drifter is a friendly horse that loves people and attention. Gets along well turned out as well as in a box stall or a pen by himself. He has an old injury under his left cheek that is purely cosmetic. He has no bad habits or vices and is good about everything. He is an exceptionally nice, well-mannered and gentle horse and there are few and far between like him.
