JAX is a cool intelligent black Friesian pony cross gelding. JAX will be 4 yrs old in early spring and has his whole life ahead of him. JAX stands 14 hands tall which makes him perfect for larger children and adults that are looking for a horse that is closer to the ground. He is also built like a dump truck and can easily carry adults. JAX has tons of trail miles and crosses creeks,logs,bridges, thru the brush and up hill or down he does it all with a very willing attitude.He has also been downtown up and down Main Street with trucks cars and semis and is absolutely unfazed. In the arena JAX knows his leads, he lopes nice collected circles, side passes,backs up. Jax always stays soft in his bridle and body. He responds well to leg pressure and yields his body willingly. We have also started him bridless tho by no means finished in that. JAX has been exposed to balls,tarps, ropes and about anything else you can imagine. JAX does well turned out with our other horses and in the box stall he remains quiet and patient. He stands like a rock for grooming and saddling and our young children handle and groom him with no issues. When our son finishes riding him he will just drop the reins in the barn floor and untack him, groom him, and put his blanket on and he never moves. With all that he is very friendly and loves attention but is not pushy. Jax has also been used to pony colts and he will flat pull one from the saddle horn. He also works gates and has been used for riding fence lines extensively. OOOHHH… did we mention that he is stunning to look at and constantly has people complimenting how beautiful and well put together he is. JAX also drives very well. He will swing under the shafts and stand while you hitch him out in the open and will wait until you are ready to leave.In the buggy he will walk anywhere on a loose line and when you ask him to trot he will drive full contact in his bit while staying soft and responsive.JAX is very easy to shoe and our blacksmith whom shoes dozens of horses a week said that Jax is one of the easiest and most respectful that he has ever shod but that just is how Jax goes thru life. He is always trying to figure out how to please you. We would recommend Jax for confident beginners and up. If you are looking for a cool collected and BEAUTIFUL young horse to trail ride and go for a cruise in a buggy or cart or take him and finish him in the discipline of you’re choice. Jax is super athletic and learns fast. Jax has been ridden and loved by all our children from ages 3-12 and will definitely be missed.
