Jack is a beautiful gray gelding. He is stands 15.2 hands tall and is 3/4 quarter horse and 1/4 Percheron. Jack is super stocky built with a good foot and bone. He is very stout made. He is athletic, intelligent, friendly and gentle. We have owned Jack for almost a year now and he has been our go-to horse. Whether it be going trail riding, catching, sorting or loading cattle, or even riding in town parades- he has been the man for a job.

Jack has the best personality. He is fun, out-going, curious and always ready to learn. He loves attention and loves people. Jack is an all around amazing horse that has a lot of things going for him!

Jack is a trick horse! He will lay down from the ground or while you are mounted! He will also sit like a dog and follow you at the command to come. He will also side pass to a mounting block to be mounted. (Or a gate, log, truck, or whatever you choose to mount from!) Jack has also had natural horsemanship and liberty training work. He has spent many hours in the round pen and this experience he has had shows up in his attitude, demeanor and every day riding.

Jack has had 90 days professional reining/cutting horse training. He will sit and spin 360 degrees. He is very soft in the mouth, he has a big sliding stop. He has one of the best lopes of any horses we have ever owned. He is super smooth and collected with every step he takes. Jack lopes smooth, slow circles both ways while taking the correct leads, he sides passes and also backs at your command. He is very responsive and knowledgeable as you can see our 6 year old operating him in the video. Jack works completely off of leg cues and body language and can be ridden completely bridleless! He has many hours of indoor and outdoor arena training and is super handy in those areas as well.

Jack has extensive trail riding experience. He’s been trail ridden many miles by our entire family! He will go up and down steep hills with ease, through mud, ditches and deep water, over logs and through brush. Jack is surefooted on rough rocky terrain and has seen and ridden all of it! He will ride out alone or with a group, in the front or in the back.

Jack is also an expert in the cattle world. He has experience roping and tying down cattle, loading semis and has been used some at the stockyards. We have used him on our own farm to check fences and cattle and to catch cattle daily. We also used him at a cattle round up to catch, sort and work a few hundred head of cattle over the course of a couple days on over 1000 acres. Jack is very quick on his feet to catch a cow. He is super athletic and agile, but at the same time he is cool, calm and level headed. His laid back nature would rather be walking and taking it easy, but he is also ready and willing to go do what you ask when you ask.

With Jack’s size, training, experience and mindset, this horse is one of a kind. He is very versatile- he could do anything you put in front of him. If you just want to go trail ride at your local state parks, he’s perfect. Or if you want to go to the mountains and hunt off of him, he is stout enough and skilled enough to do that as well. If you want him as a top employee helping run your ranch operation- he would be the guy for the job. He’s even good enough to go to the roping pens or reining shows! The sky is the limit for this guy, and he is eager to please.

Jack is also good with guns, tarps and whips as you can see in the video. He is also completely traffic safe. He is safe to ride double and use a buddy saddle on him. We’ve coon hunted off of Jack as well. He is used to dogs running around him and has been used to lead them also. In the barn, he is completely familiar with the goats and cats running in and out of the stall with him. Jack is super easy to catch, he will come when you call for him! He is patient and stands in the cross ties. Jack handles his feet well. We currently have him shod but he could go barefoot as he has good strong black hooves. He loves to be groomed, loves a bath and loads and hauls great as well. Jack is clean in the stall and gets along well with other horses in the pasture.

Even though Jack is just 4 years old, he already has the mind set of the horse that everyone in the family is going to be able to ride. That isn’t to say he is for the very first time beginner, because he does have buttons and he does what he is asked when you press those buttons. However, as long as you can hold the bridle reins and know what you’re asking him to do, this horse is going to be that family horse that every one is looking for. You can let him sit in the stall for a month at a time, pull him out to ride him and he is the same horse every time. No lunging or special treatment required.

Jack: a wonderful mindset, strong and athletic but also laid back, calm cool and collected- what more could you ask for? Not to mention his looks! You could definitely call him a “Jack of all trades!” We love Jack and we believe you will too. Check out our full video to see all of this and more. Feel free to call with any questions!
