Ernie was bred and raised on the legendary LX Ranch in Amarillo, Texas where he has spent his whole life as the boss’s #1 mount. Ernie has had countless calves’ drug to the fire off of him during branding season and has been used to look after thousands of wheat pasture cattle. He’s been on big gathers and worked the gate, sorting pairs. You name it, he’s done it, on the ranch. The coolest part about Ernie is he does NOT require a daily job to stay pure. You can leave this horse sit for months at a time. When you saddle him up for your next ride, rest assured, you can cinch him up and step on to the same gelding you left him as. He’s never offered any foolishness or freshness. He’s got the smoothest trot we’ve ever felt and a rocking chair lope. Ernie is sure footed in rough country and knows how to take care of himself in sticky situations. THIS IS WHAT THE AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE.
