Looking for a wonderfully people oriented comic relief beastie to join your farm as a companion/low impact/in hand obstacle/laughter inducing/partner in crime? Josephine is available for adoption to a wonderful, loving home. Lovely, petite, 4 y.o. black and white pinto. Very quiet, very sweet, ridiculously smart. Easy keeper that has no vices and is good for both farrier and vet. Pretty much an exceptional girl all the way around. Raised as an orphan, she does question why it is that she has to live on the barn side of the farm and does not have her own bedroom in the house. Easy to catch (whistle and she is at a gallop to come to the gate) and fun to work with in hand. She is ridiculously quiet and brave when it comes to introducing new things ... tractors, tarps, small careening children ... not much phases her. And for this past season, she has partnered up with a couple of our local 4Hers (both beginners to horses) to prove herself as one impressively talented beastie out on obstacle/trail courses (tons of photos available) in the in hand classes. Extremely well schooled and mannerly in hand with all levels of handlers. Our best guess on breeding is Spotted Saddle Horse or some cross thereof. Yes, there is a gait in there of some sort that I see on occasion. But she also has a beautiful trot and canter. To the right home, she is available for a small adoption fee and a contract to allow us to continue to be her safety net. Located in south central VA.
****** Please note ... she is FOUR years old. She is fairly petite.
And she is not officially started under saddle (though happily trucks around in the round pen under tack, being very responsive to her voice commands). So, no, she is not suitable for a beginner. Nor for a husband horse. Nor as a lesson mount. Just saving everyone some time if that is what you are looking for....Read full description
