    About

Leggs is a 7 year old unraced Standardbred Mare.

She is registered but I didn't change the registration over to my name- I have it but it's still in the previous owners name as I didn't have a need for it.
She is a trotter not a pacer -w/t/c no problem.
She is not going as a beginners horse unless you have a signed contract that you will be working with a trainer so that she doesn't suffer the errors of a beginner first learning.
She had 90 days of professional training using both natural horsemanship and dressage methods.
She would excel at showing- she has never been jumped.
She has excellent ground manners, respects all fencing, can be out 24/7 or stalled. Her feet a solid- never a need for shoes will all of the various trails we've been on. Her right front hoof requires a trimming closer to 6 weeks as the outside grows faster and tips her hoof in from being trimmed unbalanced- this has been corrected over the past year but just needs trimmings more often than 8 weeks.
She was sent to training to race as a 2-3 year old but according to the two trainers, it was quite traumatizing for her so she will NOT go to a racing home and will come with a strict no racing/no slaughter/ first rights of refusal contract.
She enjoys ring work, trail riding, and loves the beach- incredibly strong wind, dogs, kites, horses, kids, and she was unflappable- walk trot canter through it all.
She goes out alone or in a group but in a group does best as lead horse as she has a purposeful walk. If you go out regularly with the same horse, she will follow in a relaxed manner.
She is very brave and has never bolted ,bucked, reared, bitten, kicked or any of that- she only works to please and is very forgiving. She has rebuilt my confidence and I will always regret losing her.
She's very level headed and uses the thinking side of her brain.
She has a very manageable spook which happens seldom but it's in place and she's back to work.
Stands for polo wraps and boots on all four legs
Goes best English as she has a big trot.
Cross ties, bathes, loads best in a stock trailer, stands for farrier and vet, stands at the mounting block or for mounting from the ground, rocks, logs, hills, Stands to clear the trails or break low hanging branches as you ride great well balanced and lite on the lunge line.
She goes best in a slotted Kimberwick with a curb but is very soft in it. She tends to be heavy and lean on the snaffles.
She gets nervous when lifting kids up onto her or a person walking by her side if you do put a kid on her. She wont do anything other than move sideways and try to look back.
She did have most of the winter off due to personal reasons.
She had her fall shots, current coggins, teeth were done last month and hooves done this month on the 12th of this month.
Any questions please ask- there's no way to get everything out in an ad. There's nothing bad to say or warn you about other than her trot can be a bit awkward(very big) when she's warming up.
