Special Short Oak aka Dexter/Dex is a stout built 14.3H, 2017 model registered AQHA blue-eyed gelding. Dex has impeccable breeding, with Shortly Lena going back to Doc O’lena on the top and Gunners Special Nite going back to Colonels Smoking Gun WOW what a pedigree!!! He has the athleticism, and head-turning striking looks. He got a great start with the legendary Bobby Lewis (AQHA and NCHA Hall of Fame rider). Dexter is versatile and intelligent, has been introduced to roping sorting/penning, and most recently has been used as a turn-back horse in the cutting pen. He is cowy and super QUICK. Dex is super confident. As a 4 year old he was leading pack strings in the Uinta mountains and ponying young and old horses through water and over bridges. He has not shown any indication of fear when taking on new tasks. Dex has a good one hand neck rein and a Huge STOP which is a plus for you calf or heal ropers. He is quiet and doesn’t anticipate, but waits for your que’s, which is great in the show pen. Saddle him up and ride him every day with a smile.
