Meet Goldie!
If you are looking for a pleasant, co-operative, smooth ride, in a fancy color, you have found her! Goldie is a people-oriented, easy-going mare that is fun to ride and beautiful to behold. She has been carrying a 60+ year old woman in the state parks of Ohio alone for the past three years, she is that trustworthy. This mare stands like a rock at the mounting block, even when she has had a month or so off due to bad weather. Once you are mounted and ready, just a light squeeze and she moves out, she is always willing. You can walk out in pasture and halter her easily; or if you prefer, just whistle and call her name, she will run right to you, with the rest of the herd behind or not! Goldie is excellent for the vet and farrier, loves to be groomed, and enjoys treats, never nippy or rude, just stands there flapping her lip and hopeful. Goldie is accustomed to the trails, going over logs, through water, climbing hills, and the video shows her very first encounter with a trail obstacle set-up. She was expecting to step over the log, not turn sharply, but as usual, she simply does as she is asked. None of the video shows her after being worked, all footage shows her fresh! The arena work shows her nice, comfortable gait, and she never tries to duck out that open entry gate. If you would like, you can see Goldie in some of the 'Best of America by Horseback" footage from this past July at Pine Creek in Ohio. She stalls well, stands in cross ties without a fuss, and will stand tied at the trailer as long as necessary. A very easy keeper, she is current on vaccines, deworming, and had her dental in April
