Rides bareback and under saddle; bit or bit-less. Bathes, great for farrier, ties, trailers, no kick, bite, rear or buck; sweet natured and LOVES to be groomed. She functions best in an environment where knowledgeable and responsible people are involved in her handling.

This mare has been a ‘life teacher’ for several years in an outreach program for youth. She specialize in teaching responsibility, accountability, compassion, patience and resolve in the young, human heart. Her qualifications and experience make her the perfect ‘lesson’ horses for youth. She is not a speedster or show pony. She would be considered by most as less than desirable due to what many would consider an imperfection. (She is blind in her right eye. She has been that way for at least a decade, and has fully adjusted. ) But in reality, this 'imperfection' further qualifies her to teach compassion, patience and resolve. And further makes her SPECIAL and illustrates how EVERYONE, despite their imperfections or challenges, have VALUE and can provide important, necessary contributions to this amazing YET challenging world we live in.

While she has been great with our new riders, she is not a ’beginners’ horse in the sense she tunes in very quickly to her rider. Fearful riders cause her concern and she will sometimes become insecure herself. She worked well as a lesson horse in our program where responsible adults taught in-depth safety and equine behavioral education, before ever putting new riders on the horses. And all riding lessons and equine interaction was overseen by adults.

She is well seasoned as lesson and a family horse, and after all she has given to the youth we have worked with, deserve to spend the rest of her amazing life where she can continue to bless others and teach the qualities and life skills we need as human beings. If you want a horse that teaches qualities such as ’perseverance’ vs. ’perfection,’ ’compassion’ vs. ’competitiveness,’ and ’patience’ vs. ’patterns,’ look no further.
