The mecate I selected was in the “snake skin” pattern. This is one gorgeous and well made piece of equipment! The rich colors are beautiful on any horse. The rawhide and horse hair detail make it more than just a rope. In addition, the poppers are good leather and not the bonded garbage you get on most rope mecates. This well crafted piece however, is not just pretty. The rope is high quality, and it will stand up to use. It has weight and feel. It’s worth every penny. I can’t recommend this enough. I would rather pay a little more for something good. I’ve had the cheap ones and there is an obvious reason why they are cheap. You should get many years of service with this mecate.
