Maggie has been with the same owner since she was 3. She is well-broke, but has developed what appears to be arthritis in her right knee and likely some arthritis in her hocks. Up until this year, she has ridden without a hitch, but this spring, she was sore. She was examined by a vet, and he said with intervention, she should be ridable walk-trot-canter. (Intervention meaning joint supplements and/or Equiox, Bute, etc.)

Maggie has been mostly arena ridden, and has an excellent jog and lope. She was "show-broke" when she was younger and has the natural movement of a show-bred Quarter Horse. It would take a tune-up to get her there again, but she could do it if someone was able to work with her arthritis issue. She could make a good lesson horse or "ride around that farm" mount. She was just started on a joint supplement this summer. Her owner only gets to work with her a few months out of the year, and that's why Maggie is for sale. More consistent exercise would be better for her.

Maggie is an easy keeper and is middle of the pecking order. She ties, loads easy, is great for the farrier and vet, and is just plain easy to handle. She would make an excellent broodmare, although she has never been bred.
