“War Chief”
8-year-old (grade) Leopard Appaloosa gelding.
We are so excited to offer this phenomenal boy! The pictures and video speak for themselves, he is gorgeous as can be and is a complete gentleman in every aspect.
Standing at the perfect height of 15.1 hands, he is sturdy, well built, and versatile. Calm demeanor, and loving attitude, he has been a favorite since the day he arrived here.
Chief is a gorgeous mover, with a comfortable, walk, trot, and lope. He will lope slow and controlled, as well as reach out with some speed if you choose. He is a very smooth ride!
Big responsive stop, and reverse. He moves well off leg pressure if you ask, side passes beautifully. Nice and soft on your hands.
He does everything with a willing mind. Seasoned riders enjoy his training, athleticism, and responsiveness, yet a beginner or a six-year-old rider can feel confident and safe on reliable Chief. He easily adjusts to his rider.
Level-headed, sane, kind, and honest are a few good words to describe him.
He has lots of experience on trails and is 100% dependable. Crossing creeks, logs, down slippery banks, through the mud, around traffic or other horses, He’s perfectly capable and does all with ease.
Quiet and gentle, Chief does not mind flags, dogs, tarps and or whatever else comes his way. He’s spent some time in the feed yards in Oklahoma, has been used on some bigger cattle operations doing various ranch work, so he’s been exposed to a lot, and has quite a resume! He’s also been shown in ranch classes, has competed in penning, sorting and boxing.
On the ground, Chief is easy to catch, he’s the first one to greet you at the gate. Bathes, good for the farrier, and will stand patiently for hours just enjoying being pampered. He trailers and hauls well. He is completely sound, has no vices, and sells 100% in every way.
It’s difficult to find an honest, safe and reliable gelding these days. Not to mention one as flashy, and well-rounded as Chief. His potential is unlimited, and someone is going to be extremely pleased with their new partner!
