Montana Ace of Hearts is an 11/12 yo Gelding Well built 15H. Has a white heart spot of right shoulder.
Ace has papers showing he was from Montana and you can tell someone has worked him on cattle. He was owned by a 62 yo man for 4-5 a few years who due to ill health was not able to ride him the previous 2 years. His daughter was riding him randomly but does not enjoy gaited horses.
I am selling him for a friend who has decided he is not a good match for her, she has an older TB.
Montana will cross water, bridges, the suspension bridge over at Big Rock without blinking an eye. He is fine with sounds, trail noises, flags, and comes to the mounting block to be mounted. Although he would like to get going, he loves to work. I think he would gait the trail till he just plain dropped dead as he loves to be out. You can feel he is happy to do his job, and is happy to go whatever speed you want to go. He is a smooth as butter mover, rocking chair canter, stops great. Talented strong gait, and agile on his feet. Takes twisty trails great, loves a challenging trail, or off trail.
So here is the Bad. He crow hopped on his current owner in the arena last Sunday. She has ridden him 6-8 times, on the trail, cantered him with a small group, over bridges etc. no problem what so ever. I also rode him the previous 6 weeks and not a crow hop or wrong foot the whole time. She has had a horse who threw her and now her confidence is low. He is boarded at a place owned by a Vet who pre-purchase vet examed him, feet x rays etc. which are all good. After Montana bounced her the Vet checked him again and no problems. I also brought him to my place and messed with him and still no problems.
He does need his teeth done, and as of today his feet are a little long and scheduled to get trimmed next week.
