Meet Kingston!

He’s a full Morgan registered with AMHA as M View Kingston. He stands about 15.1 hands tall. Kingston is an amazing horse he’s one of our favorites and one that we don’t care if he sells or doesn’t. I hate to let him go, but we have too many and need to downsize the herd. Kingston rides and drives he’s safe for both riding and driving.

He’s been ridden and driven downtown and down major highways and does just excellent he’s traffic safe and not spooky. For a driving horse he’s my FAVORITE! I’ve never had a horse better than him for driving. You can drive him one handed that’s how easy he is to handle. He stands EXCELLENT for tacking and hitching him up to the cart. I don’t need any help hitching him he just stands there while I pull the cart up and start hooking things up. And for getting on and off the cart he stands good too. He does fine at the corners and will walk off or trot whatever you ask. He’s just an EXCELLENT driving horse he is the best one I have ever had for driving.

For riding he’s just as great he’ll leave home alone just fine no problems. With other horses he can ride front or back doesn’t matter. I mostly ride out alone so he’s used to leaving home alone. He’s easy to catch, an easy keeper, fly sprays, hoses down, clips, stands tied great, hauls like a dream, self loads, picks up his feet (he gets shod when he’s getting drove a lot and does amazing for the ferrier), I really don’t have anything bad to say about him. He’s an all-around dream horse! I really hate to sell this guy he’s so fun to drive and ride because you just don’t have to worry he’s that good. He’s been everywhere done anything I’ve asked of him has never offered to give me any issues. He walks right in the water lakes, rivers, creeks, ponds, you name it he’ll go. He crosses bridges both big and small.

He’s traffic safe we have had big noisy trucks, motorcycles, and we’ve even went down in the river with people on boats and he does fine with boats too! He’s more whoa than go, but he will pick up the pace and go if you ask he’s one of those rare horses that you can just have a blast on him because you can go slow if you want or go faster with him he’ll do whatever you ask. He has a medium pace trot and can do a slower jog or move out and do an extended trot if you ask. His trot is nice and smooth easy to sit to and he has a very nice canter as well.

Again for a driving horse I can’t say it enough he’s one of the best I’ve had he’s had grandmas and kids driving him that’s how good he is. He’s tackled some steep hills out on the trails he’s not afraid of them I really have not been able to find anything yet to faze this horse. In the pasture he’s low to middle pecking order he’s been with geldings or mares doesn’t matter. He’s friendly will come up to the gate when you go out in the pasture.

Now for the level of rider I would say if you’re taking him out alone and such he would be an intermediate rider only because he is a light touch on the reins. He is used to just a snaffle bit it doesn’t take much for him to stop or turn with just a snaffle if you ask. So with a beginner if they got on him and pulled hard one way or the other he would be confused so he would be an intermediate rider only because of that. He could do just fine with an advanced beginner as long as they know how to handle a horse and have some supervision and again only because he is light on the reins. You can drive him one handed you can’t do that with just any driving horse. And for driving he would be a great horse to teach someone how to drive because he’s just so safe that way and easy to handle. And he’s NOT quick like a reining horse or anything like that he’s just a light touch on the reins and you just wouldn’t want to be hard on his mouth and that’s the only reason I would say he’s not quite for a beginner.

We all really love this guy if he doesn’t sell we are going to keep him, but if he does sell I really hope he goes to someone that will take great care of him he’s a horse that really deserves a good home with someone that will appreciate him. You’ll be hard pressed to find another horse this good and not to mention he’s put together really nice and that jet black color isn’t bad either!
