Penny is a beautiful 11 yr old Ky Mtn mare. She stands a sturdy 14 hh. Penny is built like a tank and as stout as an ox! She stands to be tacked up, mounted & dismounted, is easy to groom, handle her feet, trailers well, pastures well with others, is not spooky, etc. Penny has trail experience and rides confidently. She easily and confidently crosses water, logs, travels up and down steep terrain, doesn’t mind traffic, etc. I have enjoyed riding Penny and think she is a pretty nice solid mount! I had some horses escape their pasture the other day. I was out riding Penny, so I used her to round them up and pony them back home. She handled it great!

Penny isn’t a deadhead and is ready to ride and go to work whenever you want, but she is also content just to walk along or gait down the trail.

She is pretty simple to ride. I think most people could get along with her. She will ride alone or with others. Penny is smooth as silk but is by no means a speed horse.

However, I think she is great if you enjoy taking in the scenery while plodding along the trail. She will walk along, nod her head, or pick up and travel in a smooth little gait down the trail! On top of these qualities, she is one of the prettiest bays I think I have seen. She has a beautiful dark bay coat color with big dapples all throughout it.
